The Legal Committee, which is also known as the sixth and the last committee of the
United Nations General Assembly, was established in 1947 to be primarily occupied with
the disputes affiliated with international legal matters around the world and in the United
Nations. The committee is in cooperation with other establishments such as the
International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC). The Legal
committee has the authority to draft guidelines and regulations by relying on the
individual governments to cooperate by internalizing said guidelines and regulations
themselves.GA-6 is liable to assess legal issues in the light of international law. Committee's main purpose is to evaluate and amend existing laws and to create new laws. The sixth
committee has liabilities like addressing laws at the international level to prevent possible
transnational harm that arises from various acts, reporting annually to the International
Law Commission and providing diplomatic protection. Delegates will first evaluate new international laws about the protection of journalists working in conflict zones and other hazardous zones. The second topic will involve the reconsideration of CRISPR protocols in human gene editing from ethical ways. The last agenda will concern the protection of the legal rights of activists and whistleblowers in the face of corporate interests. Delegates will try to find sustainable resolutions in order to resolve these disputes
